Dead Plants Society
Thanks to funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, our new Dead Plants Society project will see us as in partnership with the Leeds Discovery Centre.
Each Wednesday we will explore the 250,000 collection of pressed plants from the past 300 years, most from around the Leeds area. This collection is rarely exhibited due to its delicate nature, so it's a unique opportunity to get hands on with our local history, and do some detective work about changing plant names, changing locations and landscape and the personalities behind the collection.
We will also find new specimens in the field which will be added to the museum collection, discover stories about our community and chart how nature and biodiversity in Leeds have changed across the past two hundred years.
Places must be booked
When - Wednesdays 10-12
Where - The Leeds Discovery Centre
