Space2 is looking for new trustees who share our commitment to “working creatively with communities to develop a thriving, hopeful and sustainable future together”
Who we are
Space2 is an award winning arts and social change organisation based in Gipton, Inner East Leeds. We passionately believe in using community development principles and participatory arts to realise positive change with individuals and communities.
From poetry to gardening, singing to sewing, weekly groups to performances and exhibitions, we work with communities to design and deliver projects and events which bring people together to share their creativity and skill, build confidence and enjoy themselves.
From the cost of living crisis to the impacts of climate change, the communities we work with are facing huge challenges and we are committed to playing our part in addressing these challenges and creating a better future.
The role
We are looking for new trustees to share their skills and experiences to help Space2 and our communities thrive.
Being a trustee is a voluntary role in which you will work with our Co-Directors and fellow trustees, sharing your knowledge and insight to help Space2 meet its aims. As a trustee you would need to attend 6 board meetings a year.
If you have knowledge or skills in the following areas, we would love to hear from you:
· Fundraising and Bid Writing
· Governance and Policy Making
· HR (Human Resources)
· Legal Matters
· Business or Commercial Environments
· Being a ‘critical friend’
It’s also really important that our board is representative of all of the communities we work with, so if you’re interested in the role but don’t have experience as a trustee, please get in touch. We welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds and training will be provided.
To have an informal chat about the role, or for more information on the application process, contact saraht@space2.org.uk or call 0113 320 0159.
